Eligibility

Undergraduate or graduate students from any nationality are eligible to apply.

Since a mission design involves a highly multidisciplinary work force, students from any discipline can apply. Including:

  • Applied Math

  • Business/Project Management

  • Chemistry/Chemical Engineering

  • Civil Engineering

  • Computer Science/Software/Animations

  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering

  • Geology and Planetary Sciences

  • Graphic Design/Graphic Arts

  • Material Science

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Medicine

  • Physics/Applied Physics

  • Space Policy

Application Instructions

  1. Fill out the online form below.
  2. Combine the following items into a single PDF:
    • In 500 words or less, please explain the following: 
      • Why are you interested in the Caltech Space Challenge?  
      • How will participation benefit you?
      • What technical skills would you bring to your team?
      • What leadership and group project experience would you bring to your team?
    • Curriculum Vitae (2 page max)
    • For art and design applicants, please include some space related artwork
  3. Submit the pdf via email to spacechallenge(at)caltech.edu with the subject "Your Name Caltech Space Challenge 2015 Application" before December 15th, 2014.
  4. Request a letter of recommendation from an advisor, supervisor or professor.  Please have them email spacechallenge(at)caltech.edu with a single page PDF with the subject line "Your Name Caltech Space Challenge 2015 Recommendation".
